The Wild Rose Boutique has moved to a new location next to the Posie Shoppe and gained a women’s lingerie vendor
For new or old customers of the Wild Rose shop, the store has moved to a bigger location and the owner, Shari Hite, is ready to serve customers.
The Wild Rose offers a wide variety of women’s merchandise, new and used, including curvy women’s clothing, accessories, jewelry, footwear and gift items. Its inventory includes women’s activewear, dresses, jeans, hats, makeup, spa items and new summer wear. Hite also hosts the saleswoman, Lynette Winters, who offers women’s lingerie.
Shari Hite started Wild Rose about five years ago at her old location at 290 NW Third St. next to O’Reilly Auto Parts in Prineville. She recently upgraded her store to a new location further east at 127 NW Third St., next to the Posie Shoppe.
Prior to opening the Wild Rose boutique, Hite had an established jewelry business, Shari’n the Jewels, which she successfully operated independently for four years. She saw a need for affordable second-hand fashion clothes and accessories for women in Prineville. She also includes her jewelry in her current boutique.
“That’s how I found this love of shopping and reselling, and I opened up in the other location. We just outgrew really fast, and the needs got bigger and bigger.”
She added that the small space meant smaller shelves and the venue did not provide enough space for customers to move around and view the goods.
“After years and years, it became very difficult to get around.”
Hite started looking for a bigger venue and noticed space was available next to the Posie Shoppe. A “for sale” sign was up, then it fell, so she inquired with Michelle Simpson about the space west of her shop. Simpson had purchased the building, and soon after, Hite rented and renovated the space and recently opened its store in the spacious new premises.
She added that she likes the location and it’s closer to other stores that appeal to women who like to shop downtown. When there are Chamber of Commerce sponsored events, they are also located in a convenient location.
“Main Street has become a popular attraction for women to park their cars and walk everywhere.”
Hite indicated that they offer more new and affordable merchandise, as well as the option to offer more lightly used merchandise. She is also happy to offer curvy sizes for women – both new and used items.
“It’s a really big need in town, so I like to cater to everyone if I can. It’s so hard to find flattering, fashionable clothes,” Hite commented.
She added, “If I don’t want my daughter to wear it, it won’t be in the store.”
The Wild Rose Boutique is open Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (summer time).
Sweet Cheeks, owner, Lynette Winters
Winters opened his new business simultaneously at Hite, moving his shop to his new location. The spacious building provided a beautiful space for Winters to showcase and sell her lingerie, which has been a high-demand item in Prineville for several years.
“I’ve thought for years that I wanted to start a lingerie business where people in Prineville could get cute stuff and not have to drive all the way to Bend,” Winters explained of her desire to open her new business.
She added that it’s hard to find curvy waists in Bend, since Lane Bryant closed in Bend.
“I really want to focus on making women feel beautiful and really be there for our community. It’s small now but hopefully it will grow. We thought that was a good place to start. because Shari had the clientele,” Winters said.
She helped Hite with her store in previous years and often observed women asking about lingerie items and commenting that they were nearly impossible to find in Prineville. Its inventory includes bras, all styles of panties, bachelorette items, bathrobes and cute pajama sets.
Winters noted that customers can also leave a message at 541-903-5556, which is Wild Rose Boutique’s number. They can buy items from her inventory whether she is present or not.
